Today was a good day to relax. Two dear friends, Launa and David, sat together in front of the television in the living room. Her arm was around him as he leaned against her side with his head resting on the side of her breast. The two of them had been working out all day every day for over a week, so this was exactly what they wanted to do. Sabrina and Azrealle went out to have a bit of fun together around Amsterdam, leaving Launa and David alone together. After all… they were extremely close friends and it was about time they spent some quality time together.

Flipping through the channels they eventually came to a news station. It announced that Angelina Jolie was adopting another child from a poor family in a foreign country. This caught their attention as they looked at each other for a second and then turned back to the screen. The anchor also informed the audience that the great Jennifer Aslan, Launa's identity as far as the public was concerned, would be going on her world tour soon with the rest of her team. Again, David and Launa exchanged a quick glance. This was starting to remind them both of the day they first met somehow.

"Launa," said David, "are you wondering about the same thing that I am?"

"I think so… what exactly are you thinking about?"

"Thinking what it would be like if I had taken you up on your offer to adopt me. What it would be like if you were my… my mother." David gave an awkward chuckle.

"Hehe, I would've been very happy to have you as my adopted son, David." Launa smiled down at him and gave him a squeeze, poking him in the chest. "Things would've been very different, but you would've been worth it."

"D'awwww," David couldn't help but blush a bit, "that's very sweet of you to say Launa. I'm sure that you would've been a lovely mother. Each day I wouldn't be able to wait to get back home from school and spend the rest of the day with you."

For a while they kept on picturing what it would've been like for them to be mother and son. No doubt it would've been a story worth telling. In fact…

Launa reached out and put her hands on David's shoulders. "If you want out of hell, David, then all you've gotta do is ask. I'd be willing to bail you out even if it means adoption. Because, believe me or not, I know what it's like to suffer, and I'll be damned if I didn't do what I can to help you live a better life."

"You mean it?" asked David "you'd be my mother?" Launa smiled and nodded. David didn't know what to say. Launa, being his mother… a huge muscular and gorgeous, not to mention busty, feline as an adopted mother. He really liked the idea; rather he loved it. This was turning out to be a wonderful day. Speechless, David struggled to put his thoughts into words but he couldn't. Finally he just nodded and quickly jumped across the table, giving Launa a hug with all his strength around her neck. He didn't care that they were in a public place and that he had knocked over their cups of hot cocoa. Neither did she as she wrapped her arms around him, unable to deny the warm and fuzzy feeling this tender moment gave her. "This is… the best day of my entire life, Launa."

"Hehe, you're such a sweet heart, David. I can't wait to show you your new home. More rather I can't wait to see the look on your face when we get there."

"Is it really that amazing?" Launa answered with a nod. "Th-then what are we waiting for? Let's go get me officially adopted." Not wasting another moment they exited the deli and found Ms. Proulx to tell her the good news. Needless to say she was shocked to see Launa, even with her huge 7-foot tall human guise, taking a while to notice that David was standing next to her.

"Don't tell me… you want to adopt him don't you?" Ms. Proulx raised a brow as Launa nodded. "Well you can't, now if you please we have to get back to the orphanage." She reached out for David but he just yanked his hand out of her grasp. When she reached for him again Launa grabbed her arm.

"Don't you lay another hand on him, missy." Launa demanded. "Now I don't know what makes you think that I can't adopt him, but we're gonna walk away from you as mother and son. Although I'm sure that there are papers and procedures that we need to go through, you can just send them to me later. Because there's no way I'm gonna let him go back to the orphanage. Also, if you'd be so kind as to send us his belongings that would be very nice."

"Y-you can't just 'kidnap' him. There are laws against…"

"Oh I'm aware of said laws, but there are also laws against how this wonderful boy is being treated. So unless you truly believe you can hold a case against me then I recommend you back off." Ms. Proulx did actually have a good reason, but something terrible would befall her and the other orphans if she told them.

"F-fine, just leave. I have things to do." Ms. Proulx left them and got on the bus with the rest of the orphans and drove off for the orphanage. David looked up to Launa with a big smile, which she returned as they headed to her bike. She was still on tour, but she was a mother now; she had more important things to take care of. Jumping on Launa placed him in front of her and held him safely with one arm and drove her bike using just her other hand.

"Are you ready for a fun ride, David." Launa chuckled. He gulped and nodded nervously. She manifested a helmet on his head and put on her own. Bringing her appearance field down, David felt her warm fur covered arm holding him against her firm abs. "Okay, here we go." With a loud revving of the engine, Launa took off down the road. David's eyes went wide open seeing the wilderness fly by him so fast. The wind, the acceleration pushed him against Launa. Eventually she brought it down to a constant speed. It didn't take long for David to get used to it and relax and just rested to the point that he actually fell asleep.

Shortly after, or at least what felt like a short time, he felt the bike come to a stop on a street in front of a large apartment building. "We're home, David." Getting off he wobbled a bit remembering what it felt like to walk again. On his way up the elevator David was expecting the apartment to be decently sized, but he wasn't prepared for what he saw next. As the metal double doors parted, his jaw dropped. It was huge. There was no telling how large it was… likely large enough for him to get lost. Taking step after step he looked around. Launa enjoyed his reaction with a smile. However, David felt a bit… off about this, somewhat uncomfortable.

"Sweet heart, is everything alright?" she walked up to him.

"What," a few seconds later David looked up at her snapping out of it, "oh, n-no it's alright. It's just that this is… it's such a change I find it hard to take it all in. I'm sorry."

"Awww, don't worry about it, David. I can perfectly understand your feelings. The next few days are gonna be very unexpected and eventful for you. But don't worry about it. I'll take care of everything, I promise." David nodded, yawning as he rubbed his eyes. "Hehe, looks like someone's a bit tired. Come on I'll show you your new room." She led him down a hall and opened a door to a well-sized room and a nice comfy bed. There was a big TV across the room and a bathroom to the right with a Jacuzzi and a steam shower. The closet was large enough to fill up with god knows how many clothes. "Go take a shower and I'll have some pajamas for you by the time you get out."

David entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him with a smile. He had never expected to see such a bathroom, let alone have one of his own. Looking at the large tub he chose it instead of the shower, having no idea how to work the steam feature in the first place. Undressing as the tub filled up he climbed in letting out a moan of such relaxation. Never before in his life had David ever thought he'd experience luxuries to even a fraction of this extent. Taking his time he finally got to bathing. Finished he climbed out and dried off. Just as Launa said there was a set of sleeping clothes. David decided to only put on the pants, being used to sleeping shirtless. Walking out he saw Launa also ready for bed in a white two-piece set of pajamas. The sleeves were a bit loose to fit her arms, but just enough, and the rest was fairly tight around her with her breasts being no exception.

"Hello there, David. Is everything okay?" Not answering David looked back into his room… noticing how empty it was. He has never had the area wherever he slept to himself. Launa knew exactly what was going through his mind. "David, would you like to come sleep in my room?" Without hesitating he nodded and entered into Launa's room right behind her. Grabbing a blanket he laid it on the floor and rested his body on a pillow. "Just what are you doing?"

"I'm… going to sleep." David was puzzled in her question.

"Not on the floor you will. What kind of mother would I be if I didn't let you sleep with me here? Now get up here." She smiled and patted on the mattress. Slowly he got up and went to the opposite side of Launa's and pulled the covers over himself, laying on the very edge. "David, why do you insist on keeping such a distance from me. You should know by now that I'm a friendly feline. So come on, get a bit closer." He scooted over a few feet toward her. "Closer." A few more feet almost to the center of the bed. "Come here, you." Showing him exactly what she was going for Launa shifted to lay right next to him on her side, facing him. Reaching out for him she pulled him against her holding him close. He was facing away with the back of his head against one of her breasts. Launa moved David to position him against her muscular and warm furry body, her hand against his chest, nuzzling the top of his head.

"L-Launa?" Said David. "W-what are you doing?"

"Why… I'm cuddling you, hon. Something you'll have to get used to for when either one of us is lonely. Don't you like it?"

"Of course, I just never have done a-anything like this before. You're very comfy a-and… it's lovely." He hugged her hand to his chest feeling her warmness flow into him. Launa too loved this, loving the feeling of being motherly to a wonderful young man such as David. This was certainly an unexpected day, but in a good way. It was the start of something very special.

The next day, Launa woke up and saw that they had shifted in their sleep so that David was lying on top of her with his head under her chin and his arms around her neck. Also, she had wrapped her soft and strong feline tail around his legs a bit. Still with her arms around him, Launa held him close. She could tell that yesterday's excitement had really taken it out of him. Letting him sleep on her a bit longer, Launa gently removed his grasp from her and placed him on her bed. Getting up, she went into her bathroom to shower and get dressed.

Coming out she saw that David was gone, but she could hear him in the kitchen. Exiting her room she saw him rummaging through the cupboards looking for something.

"David," said Launa, "what are you looking for?"

"What," asked David turning around, "oh I'm just looking for some cereal to eat. It was one of my favorite breakfasts at the orphanage, but we hardly ever had it." He saw Launa raise a brow with a smile. "I'm guessing sleeping on the floor is to cuddling with you, as is cereal is to something else you have in mind." Launa gave out a nice chuckle at David's words.

"Hehe, something like that, David. How about you go get changed and ready for the day while I fix you something. We've got some work to do, today." David wasn't exactly sure what she meant by that, but the possibilities seemed interesting indeed. So he did as he was told and found some clothes on his bed. As the morning progressed they sat together and Launa treated him to some French toast and eggs. It didn't surprise her that he could count on one hand how many times he ever had said meal, which he certainly demonstrated in asking for a total of four servings. Surprisingly they didn't talk about much. Simply eating together.

There was still an undeniable feeling of "strange" regarding their new situation. It all happened so fast and they were already very comfy with each other as mother and son, though there was still room for said relationship to progress. Of course, there was no need to concern themselves with that.

For the rest of the day, Launa took David around Amsterdam… in her human guise of course. David remembered Launa saying something about being a bit of a celebrity, but it still took him by surprise when people would ask for a picture with her or an autograph every once in a while. They seemed a bit puzzled when they saw him with her, but never said anything about it.

On another note, in any city there's bound to be people walking their dogs. Almost every time they walked by one of these people their dog would eagerly run up to David and jump on him wagging their tails. Naturally they'd apologize, but David just smiled and gave the dogs the attention they wanted. There was even one point when an owner who was having a difficult time making his dog come with him. Though when David told the canine to go he did so right away.

"Wow," Launa was honestly impressed with his affinity with dogs, "I didn't know you were so good with animals."

"Meh, I've always loved anything furry that walks on four legs and wags its tail at you. I even saw a few wolves back in Canada that let me get very close to them. Though I was never gutsy enough to try and pet one and risk loosing my face." Hearing this made Launa think a bit, but she'd have to wait. The day was still young.

After grabbing some new clothes and things for her new son, Launa suggested they take a break, which David liked. Ready to grab some lunch, the two of them entered into a café. Launa gave him some money to get a couple of meals from the counter. When he got a couple of meals the cashier looked at him curiously. Like how Launa's fans did but not in the same sense.

"Is… something wrong, sir?" asked David. "Did I not give you enough money?"

"Not at all, but shouldn't you be in school today? I didn't think today was off."

"Uuuuh," David hadn't thought about this at all… ever, "I'm gonna go eat now." Sitting next to Launa he didn't hesitate to convey the question. "Launa, will I be going to school?" Launa looked up from her phone. "I just realized that I'm the only kid out and about right now… at all."

"Well… I was thinking that you'd want to wait a bit longer before we got to that. Don't you want to get used to your new hometown first?"

"Actually," David took a decent pause to think how he could put his thoughts into words, "I'm thinking I would get used to it quicker if I spent some time in a place similar to where I lived before. I don't mean with cruel people and everything but with people my own age."

"I don't know, David. It's been centuries since I ever attended school myself, but I do know that cruel students still exist. Are you sure you wanna go right back to that?"

"Hehe, I've dealt with three ass holes all my life with nobody around to turn to. Now I'm sure I can find some people to make friends with, maybe not right away but that doesn't matter. If I'm to be a part of the world outside Churchill then I need to interact with it as best I can." Launa smiled, liking David's attitude. "I just wanna be able to feel at home outside of the apartment."

"Now that you bring this up, it would give you something to do while I'm away on my trips. Though I'll have to find a way to keep you looked after should you be alone at home."

"It's okay, Launa. I can take care of myself. You don't have to worry about me."

"Oh yes I do, hun." Launa chuckled. "Now eat up so we can go and get you enrolled in some classes." And as she said, the moment they were finished eating Launa took David to a school near the center of Amsterdam. It had been opened only a few years ago. It was a private prep school and had a great reputation. The perfect school for a son of Launa's to attend. Despite how intimidated David was standing out side the school, he was even more so when he saw it on the inside. All students were wearing a small selection of clothes. Not exactly a uniform, but rather a dress code. They wore polo shirts, button down shirts, sweaters. Boys had cakey pants or grey dress pants while girls had skirts that went down to just above their knees. Although David didn't like wearing clothes so similar to everyone else's, it was a small price to pay for why he was there in the first place.

Eventually finding their way to the dean's office, Launa was greeted with much enthusiasm… no surprise there. There wasn't very much difference in the enthusiasm with which Launa was reception. However, what was different was the greeting that David received.

"Ms. Aslan," the dean welcomed offering a hand to shake which she kindly accepted, "I'm Matthew Worth and it's a pleasure to see you here in Barend High School. I'll be honest I'm a real fan of yours." As was evident from his coffee mug with the Dark Kat logo he was holding. He was quite tall, at around six foot four, and well fit. His clothes both expressed a professional yet outgoing and fun attitude. Although he seemed bit young for a school dean, around his late twenties, his attitude and character played the part very well. "I hope it's okay if I ask, but could you sign my mug." Launa gave out a bit of a chuckle.

"Sure, but how about we get to that later. I'd like to speak with you about enrolling my son at this school." The dean nearly choked on his coffee. A few others in the office looked to them a bit as well, but quickly went back to work.

"Your son? I didn't know you had a son."

"She adopted me just yesterday." David thought it was time to make himself noticed. "I'm David Hemming by the way, Matthew."

"Well, let's go into my office so we can get this set up. And it's Mr. Worth if you please, David." Launa could already tell she was talking with someone whom she could count on. "If everything goes to plan I'm sure we can have him attending class by Friday." Launa could tell from his tone that the dean was stern with his rules but not aggressive. Just the kind of authority she wanted at the school she would trust David to. Following Mr. Worth into his office, Launa and David took a seat in front of the man's desk. He asked them a few questions about where he was from, age, history, personal information, etc. For the most part he nodded acceptingly as he wrote on his clipboard. However, when he asked for some documents from Launa she told him honestly that they had none. It went without him saying that that would be a problem. Normally Launa would've just reached in her bag and pull out some manifested papers, but in this case she wanted to proceed by the books… more or less.

"I'm sorry Ms. Aslan," said Mr. Worth, "but we can't accept someone who has no form of identification or citizenship to at least a county. And in David's case, since he isn't a foreign exchange student, he'll need a green card… at least until the adoption is finalized."

"Are you saying that I can't go here?" David was a bit worried.

"Not at all, I'm saying that this is going to take longer than I thought. You see, the semester started a few months ago and our quarter ends this week."

"I fail to see the problem, Mr. Worth." Launa raised a brow.

"The problem is that this school, as well as all high schools in and around this city, strongly prefer not to accept students past the first quarter in a semester. By that time classes are too far along for someone to jump in. Students struggle to catch up and stay caught up at that point. It puts quite a strain on them and we don't want that for our students. I have no doubt that the process taking care of all this documentation will happen, but it won't happen soon enough." Mr. Worth could tell David was very put down by this. "I am really sorry about this, son. I know you're eager to be around others your age. Being an orphan myself I know what it's like. If it were fully up to me, then I'd give you what you want. However, I'm not the only one who's involved in deciding such things." Launa looked at David hanging his head and thought up something to maybe turn the tables on this.

"Well I guess that's that." She took out a marker and was about to sign Mr. Worth's mug, but then hesitated. "You know, Mr. Worth, it would be a shame to have only my signature on something as simple as a mug. Maybe I could come by tomorrow with a personally signed poster."

"Oh," Mr. Worth couldn't help but smile a wide smile, "that would be very appreciated. Thank you very much."

"You're very welcome." Getting up, Launa and David started to exit the office. Though again she hesitated and turned back around. "Oh darn I just remembered, the only posters I have back home are of the whole Dark Kat team. It would be strange to only have my signature on that. I assume you have tickets to the next show this summer."

"N-no I don't. All of the ones I can afford are sold out already."

"That just won't do. Hmmm, I'm sure that the VIP lounge still has spots open, and those come with backstage passes to hang out with the team after the performance. You'd be able to get anything signed by us if you could come. Oh well… maybe it would be best if I just sign your mug." Both David and Mr. Worth knew where Launa was going with this.

"You know," Matthew started fidgeting with his pen, "I'm certainly not one to take a bribe, and truthfully find the notion a bit insulting." That's when he leaned forward with a slight smile. "However, David does seem like a smart young man and would have little trouble catching up with his grade. And whatever this Ms. Proulx has on him should be plenty to start with. I can also tell that you and David really want this for him and will work hard at it if you're willing to play such a card. So I'll call a meeting with the board and do what i can. And just the mug will be enough, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I saw you and the rest of the Dark Kat through a bribe. Even by you, Jennifer."

"You're a very honest man, Matthew, and I truly admire that, but I'm going to give you the ticket and pass anyway. Though as a gift of gratitude. You certainly deserved it." Launa saw him blush. "Besides, the macho big shots who stay up in the VIP area could really benefit from being around such a gentleman for a day. They're always scrounging to grab one of the few extra seats with us and our families."

"Don't worry about me. Just bring me what you can tomorrow and we'll get things arranged." Mr. Worth kindly offered to escort them out, receiving a wink of gratitude from Launa. As the dean walked them out, the school bell rang, students poured out of their classes just in time to see Jennifer Aslan walking through the halls of their school. Luckily for her and David they knew better than to mob any guest of the dean no matter how much they wanted. Though, once again, even as everyone was more or less going about their business, David caught a few eyes as he stood at Launa's side. Doubtlessly many rumors and speculations would spread through the school like wild fire. When he was sure they were not be watched by any of the staff or students.

"L-Launa… you… you," David was so excited, "you got me in." Jumping at her the young man wrapped his arms around her torso and squeezed as hard as he could.

"Of course I did, David." Launa patted his head with one hand and his back with the other. "There's nothing I won't do for you to get what you need. Now we've got lots to do over the next week so let's get to it."

Over the course of the next few days much time was spent getting anything and everything involving school organized. This didn't only mean waiting in line at the immigrations department or the embassy, but also taking placement tests and shopping for supplies. David was quite worried at first, but as it turns out reading those old text books donated to the orphanage actually served for a use other than just being able to rub his superior knowledge in Camille's face. Truthfully, if he had scored any higher he would've been the youngest student in junior year. Everything went so smoothly that David could go to his very first day of school that Friday. It was a good thing too because it gave Launa time to prepare for a trip she would have to go on alone that weekend. The kind of journeys she took now and then weren't trips on which David should accompany her.

"Are you sure you won't get lost on the way there, hun?" Launa was making finishing touches on David's lunch. The very fact she was making school lunch was very amusing for her. She so very much wanted to walk David to school, but she didn't want to draw so much attention to him on such a day. She also didn't much have the time to get what she needed before leaving that day.

"I'm sure, Launa." David was checking to make sure his pack had everything he needed. "After walking around Amsterdam for most of the last few days I'm sure I'll be just fine. That bike you game me will help out a lot, too."

"Alright, but I get to drop you off and pick you up at least one day a week." Launa chuckled a bit, as did David. Finished with David's lunch she bagged it up and walked up to him, taking a pause to look at him with his school clothes and backpack. "My, when did I adopt such a wonderful son?"

"Mooom," David blushed at her question. It also hadn't occurred to him that he had called Launa "mom" for the first time.

"What," Launa couldn't believe her ears, "did you just call me… mom?"

"Oh," it took a while for him to hear himself, like a very delayed echo, "I… I did, didn't I?"

"Would you say it again," Launa held out his lunch, "please?"

"Thanks for the lunch, mom." David chuckled and took it. Loving it even more the second time Launa impulsively got down on one knee and hugged him. He would've embraced her too but his arms were pinned to his side.

"Have a good day at school, darling." She was swaying her tail happily. Letting go she watched him head for the door. He waved back at her and closed the door behind him. Standing there alone she listened to him calling her "mom" over and over again making her heart melt. She was about to head back to her room, but before she could the door opened up and the next thing she knew someone had practically attack hugged her. It was David squeezing her so very tight, pressing his face against her abs.

"I love you, mom. Thank you… so much for adopting me."

"I love you too, David." Gently Launa patted him on his head and ran her fingers through his long wavy hair a bit, trying so hard to hold back tears. Of course when he finally left she let out, never so anxious to get on with her trip and get back home as fast as she could when it was over.

With a good smile, David rode his bike down the streets of Amsterdam on the way to Barend High. He was still learning how to shift gears and such, but for him it was fast learning. When finally reaching the school, he rode up to the bike rack and locked it to the bars. Seemed like he got there in time just as kids were being let in. Contrary to what he was expecting people didn't pay him much attention on his way to meet Mr. Worth. That would probably soon change.

"Oh David," the dean greeted him with a handshake, "glad to see you made it on time today. No trouble navigating the streets I assume?"

"Nah, it was easy enough." David took the gesture. "So, where's my first class? I think it's… integrated physics and chemistry."

"That's Mrs. DeLay's class." Mr. Worth motioned David to follow him. "If you have any questions don't hesitate to raise your hand… just be sure they're valid questions. Now I know how nerve racking it can be to walk into a class for the first time with all eyes on you, but after today it'll be all over and the rest of the year will be smooth sailing from there. Oh, and here we are." Standing outside a classroom with the door open, Mr. Worth poked in and asked to speak with the teacher. Joining him outside the room and closing the door she saw David. She seemed a good few years older than Mr. Worth. She had strawberry blonde hair wrapped in a bun and loverly green eyes. The way she dressed made her look stern and serious, but her expression was a bit nicer than that with a warm tint to it.

"Is this the new student you mentioned the other day?" She had a kind smile. "Ms. Aslan's?" Even though the door was closed everyone in the class heard that last part. "It's great to have you here at Barend High. Thanks for bringing him here Mr. Worth; I'll take it from here." She placed a hand on his back and led him into the room. "Class, we have a new student at this school. This is David Aslan." Normally David would've corrected someone on his name, but it was too late. Also knowing who was his adopted mother it would be what everyone would call him regardless. Besides, he liked the sound of having Aslan as his name. As Hemming he was all alone and had nobody to share that name with, but as Aslan he had the best family he could ask for. "He's new in this country, so let's show him some Dutch hospitality. Please take a seat between Stephanie and Anthony over there." She pointed to the right side of the room next to the windows. There was a nice looking gal, who was actually pretty attractive, and a decent guy at a lab table. David couldn't help but wonder why a guy wouldn't want to sit next to her.

"Hey," one of the students raised a hand, "Aslan as in Jennifer Aslan."

"Uuuh," that question came up a lot faster than he would've preferred, "yeah I guess."

"Awesome, what's it like having the most badass and hottest gal in Europe as a mother?"

"That's enough welcome from you, Mr. Sutton. Take your seat between Stephanie and Anthony by the window over there, David." Mrs. DeLay sat at her desk as David navigated through the classroom sitting down in his assigned seat. It was then that he realized why Anthony didn't want to sit next to Stephanie; she scooted a bit closer to him with a less than innocent wink. Scooting away from her, Anthony tapped his shoulder and spoke lowly.

"Yeah, she kinda has a thing for celebrities and anybody who can give her a status booster." He gave out a bit of a chuckle. "That and any guy who she finds cute at all."

"Thanks for the heads up," David gulped nervously, "and what do you mean by celebrity?"

"Well, you're adopted by the Jennifer Aslan. Meaning that everyone in this school down to the lunch ladies will know about you."

"Pffft, you're exaggerating. I'm just a regular guy. There's no way I'll be that popular."

"Sure, that may be true, but you live with one of the largest and most famous women in the world. And forgive me, but she's very absolutely gorgeous and that amazing chest…" David could see him trail off, snapping a finger next to his ear with a raised brow.

"Chest, huh?"

"My point is that virtually any guy in this school, student or faculty, likes the way she looks and girls wanna be her. Meaning that… well I'm sure you understand." Oh and did David ever understand. This was indeed going to be a hectic day. He knew that rumors in schools were passed around faster than you could blink. Meaning if Anthony was at all right, then he probably had no longer than till the end of the day before everyone here knew his name. "Don't worry though, I may be a major fan of hers, but I won't kiss your ass like so many people here will. Also, I'm just excited I don't have to do lab experiments alone with… her."

"Hehe, glad I could make a useful wall between you two. I'll keep a lookout for brown nosers and suck ups."

"Quiet back there while I'm talking." Mrs. DeLay knocked on her desk as she returned to isotopes. Shushing up, David and Anthony opened their books and took notes doing what they could to ignore Stephanie.

The next few classes were pretty much the same. His teacher would announce him in and people would mumble words and a few people would raise a hand to ask something. Luckily his teachers were helpful to shoot them down before he could.

As for the classes and the subjects themselves David would have a bit of trouble here and there. Of course those sitting next to him were very eager to help out. It was getting harder and harder to tell who were genuinely helpful and those who were just buttering him up for obvious reasons. However, he didn't have much room for cynicism. As such he chose to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and figure them out later.

After what seemed like the longest time lunch finally came around. He considered eating alone in the room of his next class, but ultimately he forced himself to enter the commons. People left and right invited him to their tables: sports teams, computer nerds, the school band and more. Even the amazingly hot senior cheerleader gals tapped his shoulder as he walked by their table. Dear god how badly he wanted to sit with them, but his shyness with such women prevented him from doing so. That and they started to tease him. "Come on, David," one of them giggled a bit seductively, "would you please join us and help us compare bra sizes?" Instinctively he quickly turned tail and ran to the nearest table sitting down. David didn't even bother looking who he was sitting next to… big mistake.

"Why hello there, sexy," David slowly looked to his side to see Stephanie, "so glad you could join us."

"U-us?" Looking around him there were more girls than at the cheerleader table. A couple seemed even more excited to see him than her, leaning forward with their top three buttons undone to reveal a bit of their cleavage. Stephanie placed her arm around his shoulder. David was both happy and scared shitless. Happy that Launa wasn't there to protectively punt Stephanie out the commons door for trying to seduce her son; scared that they'd succeed.

"St-S-Stephanie," David tried desperately to not stutter, "w-w-well hello t-to you and your fr-f-frie-friends." His nervousness only made him more appealing to them. "I-isn't this a c-c-coincidence."

"Oh, no need to beat around the bush." Stephanie brushed her thigh against his. "So, have you ever had fun with a girl before?"

"Rather with a lot of girls?" Another one across the table poked his leg with her toes. Despite knowing this was basically the start of the best wet dream he could ever have brought to reality, there was no way he would last lunch without embarrassing himself.

"There you are, David." Thanking the gods for this interruption David looked behind him to see Anthony. "There's something…"

"That you need help with," getting up David didn't even bother to say bye to the ladies, "I'll do it." Anthony led him away from his seat to sit down with him at the end of the room a good distance away from everybody else. "Dude I can't thank you enough for bailing me outta there."

"No need to thank me, I could sense your confliction from the other side of the room. We bros need to stick together." As David and Anthony started eating and chatting it up David knew he had found a friend.

This was turning out to be one hell of an eventful day to say the least, and it was about to get only more so. A couple of big guys approached the two of them.

"Hey, David," this guy's build suggested that he was probably in a brutal sport, "How about you come sit with us. We're the kinda guys you wanna hang out with. That is if you wanna own this school." It was easy enough to tell these were quite macho jerks.

"N-no thank you gentlemen," David kindly turned down his offer, "I'm just trying to take it easy for now. I'd like to settle in a bit before I go and try and attract too much attention to myself."

"Hehe, in case you hadn't realized you already have all the attention you can get. Though we can understand. Name's Joel by the way. Meet us after school at the stands, and don't miss out."

"Excuse me." David was starting to get on the defensive side. "I have make it to the… the dentist after school. So maybe I'll see you some time next week, alright."

"Haha, yeah right. Don't be such a pussy."

"I said no." Standing up, David caught a good number of eyes. "Please understand, I just wanna get through the day and go home. I really appreciate the gesture to make me king of the school, but I'd rather not." Joel raised a brow, clearly very unhappy being turned down like this.

"You may be the new fad around here, David," Joel firmly pressed a finger to David's chest in an intimidating manner, "but I'm the shit here and people do what i say whether they want to or not. You being no exception. Hell i could have the coach to my pushups for me if i wanted."

"Fuck off." David wasn't nicely beating around the bush now as he shoved Joel's hand aside. "I've been told what to do my entire life by arrogant jerks like you who think the world revolves around them. So if you think I'm gonna put up with it anymore, then you've got another thing coming. Maybe if you asked me nicely i would've done what you asked, but seeing as the sand in your vagina is preventing you from thinking straight why don't you go wash it out and come back when you're ready to act like someone who didn't arrive this morning on a big-wheel." As the words left his mouth David was very shocked with himself. He had never said anything like this to anybody, not even Camille and the twins, at least not with the sense of anger he was displaying right now. However, it seemed to work as Joel and his group backed off defeated.

"You'll regret this, David. I'm not someone you wanna be enemies with." Turning around he left the two guys alone. Sitting back down David saw Anthony with an expression of shock and awe.

"What... what are you looking at me like that for?" asked David

"Dude," it took a while for Anthony to collect himself, "nobody has ever said anything like that to him... ever."

"So, he deserved it." David took a bite of the kobe steak sandwich Launa made him.

"No doubt there, but for someone who's not trying to become Mr. Popular you've certainly attracted a lot of attention in the last few minutes." Anthony could see David was a bit confused, so he chose to enlighten him a bit. "Joel's father is pretty much the richest guy around. He owns lots of sports teams, inherited a fortune from his father who owned a bunch of oil rich land back in the day, is in the lumber business... I could go on, but needless to say someone like Joel who's the top wrestler in the school wrestling team and throws the best parties around holds the crown."

"Are you saying that I'm now the king of this place?"

"Pffft, as if," Anthony chuckled, "I'm just saying that you've stood up to the most influential teen in all of Amsterdam, and for everyone to see." He nodded his head to the side, motioning to all of the people who were around in perfect ear shot.

"Oh shit." this wasn't what David wanted, giving himself a classic facepalm. "Why could i just walk away like i usually do?"

"Haha, it's too late now." Reaching across the table Anthony took two of David's fries with a laugh.

With that finished the bell rang and David got through his next few classes. His last one was art and he couldn't think of a better way to end the school day. He hadn't even touched a pencil and a sketchbook since the day he met Launa. Taking the class to draw another picture of Launa, if she was a domestic cat playing with a ball of yarn. The teacher was quite impressed with detail quickly making this his favorite class. Kindly she asked him if she could scan and copy the picture to hang up on the display wall of the class. Happily he let her and kept the original for himself to bring home and give to Launa before she left.

Finally the bell rang and David ran for his bike and rode home as fast as he possibly could. Running up the stairs after locking up his bike he took out his sketchbook as fast as he could and opened the door.

"I'm home, mom. I had a wonderful day at school. I made a friend named Anthony and drew another picture for you. It's like the one I drew back in Churchill." There was no response. "Mom… mom are you there?" Looking around he couldn't find her. Entering the kitchen to grab a drink he saw a note on the fridge.

Hey hun, sorry I couldn't be here to welcome you back home after such a big day, but time is of the essence when you live a secret life as a goddess. I'm very proud of you and hope your day was a good one. I'll be sure to bring you something back from my trip. I should be back before the end of the weekend. Until then I'm sure you can take care of yourself.

I'll be honest; when you called me "mom" today I can't tell you how much I loved that. I'm so happy I met you that day at Churchill and even more so that you took me up on my offer. I cried so many tears of joy while writing this. Oh, and check in your room, there's a little something I got for you before I left. Love you lots.

Reading the letter David couldn't help but get a bit chocked up. When he finished reading it a couple of times he hurried to his room and opened the door. Like a linebacker a big wolf tackled him to the ground and licked him all over his face. David laughed as it did trying to get up but this canine was so strong he didn't stand a chance. When he finally was let go it sat still. Getting up and wiping his face clean he saw it was a girl and as big as a fully grown german shepherd and yet had the coat of a puppy. It even looked like a puppy too… a very overgrown one at that. As he pet it around the back of it's ears he saw a note on the collar. "You're new guardian… and yes she's just a puppy."

If this was so then David knew that she was gonna grow up to be one damn huge wolf. Happily he looked back up and led her to the living room and laid down on the couch. Patting his chest, the big pup jumped up and laid on top of him with her head on his chest wagging her adorable fluffy tail. He would have to think a name for her. It took a while but he decided to name her Hura… it wasn't a very common name but it worked just fine. Turning on the TV, David let Hura lay on him for the rest of the day petting her and hugging her close.

Life is good.
I've been wanting to write this story for a long time. It's a hypothetical on about what it would've been like if David took Launa on her off to adopt him and i love it.

I'm eager to know what happened to Wyanet and David's relationship.
